Pages normally show their icon in a small size near the title.
If you want the icon to appear larger and more noticeable, you can enable the Large Page Icon layout.
This feature is useful when the icon represents identity or branding for the page.
How to Enable It
- 1.a.i.Open the page in Notion
- 2.b.ii.Go to the Category property
- 3.c.iii.Add the value:
Use Large Page Icon - 4.d.iv.Publish or refresh the live page
Once applied, the page icon will display in a large format (about 160 x 160 px) at the top of the page layout.
When to Use It
Large icons work well when the icon represents something important, such as:
- A portfolio profile photo
- A personal brand or avatar
- A course landing page
- A team/company overview page
- A showcase or presentation-style page
Example
| Page Type | Recommended |
|---|---|
| Portfolio / About Me Page | Yes |
| Home Page | Optional |
| Blog Articles | Usually no |
| Documentation Pages | No |
| Product or Project Showcase | Yes |
If you no longer want the large icon style, just remove the category and the page will return to the standard icon size.
